Helen Hawkins
Before I trained to become a qualified dance teacher with bbodance, I studied Theatre Dance at The University of Roehampton in London. There I trained in teaching, dance science, community dance practice, dance analysis and this is where my love for choreography and working with young people began. I teach the Performance Technique in Dance classes, dance performance and technique within the Advanced Development Course and direct the Summer School show once a year.
Ian Hawkins
Ian Hawkins has been a teacher of music and now Performing and Production Arts for 35 years. In this time he has examined for GCSE and A Level Music and BTEC Performing and Production Arts. Ian has worked at Ringwood School since 2002, producing many shows, concerts and leading numerous choirs and instrumental groups. He brings his experience working in the West End for five years playing keys in Cats, Beauty and the Beast and Whistle Down The Wind to his students. Ian is very privileged to have inspired many students who now work as professional musicians, performers and technicians in London, and around the world. He continues to teach at Ringwood School as well as The Helen Hawkins Dance Company. Here he leads the vocal training for the Advanced Development Course and directs the Summer School shows.
“Helen and the team have created a safe, inclusive environment where students can learn, have fun and create lifelong friendships.“
